10 Months
At this time last year, I was blissfully unaware of just how upside-down my life would be turned. At this time last year, I can honestly say I had no idea of how happy, and joyfully complicated my life would become.
Enter Anna Grace.
Being a father is a truly amazing experience and I have had the privilege of seeing many of my friends become first time parents as well. I guess that is what...

Praying and Watching
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. - Colossians 4:2-4
Evangelism. A word that stirs up different emotions and memories. Visions of people going door to door, people handing out tracts,...

who's your daddy?
On 12/3/10 I became a father. That short sentence is loaded with responsibility, joy, sleep-deprivation, and a whole lot of love. My daughter’s name is Anna Grace Patrick and was 6 lbs 13 oz at birth. Rachael was a champ in labor and delivery and went completely natural (no epidural, and only a few pain shots to take the edge off). During the 12 hour marathon that is labor and delivery,...

Lame blogger with a baby update
Blogging. Hmm. It is interesting to think that I think the events of my life are important enough that I should post them online so that others can read about my family. Weird. Okay, enough about that and the fact that I am quite possibly the world’s worst blogger.

worst blogger ever.
I’m the worst blogger ever. I always say in my mind that I will update my blog with hilarious stories and the great goings on in my life but I never get around to it. It comes down to days like today when I look at my page and realize I haven’t posted in over three months that I realize that my blog sucks! So without further delay…a Patrick family update.

Update - Three months in
I am almost at the end of three months of running, training, and sweating…and proud to report that I am still going strong. While I started at the beginning of the new year, I am calling this a life change and it is the first time that I have been able to keep something like this going for this period of time. I really feel that I have conquered a mountain here.
In these last three...

Update - One month in
It has officially been one month since starting my intense workout regimen. I have gone from running three laps on a 442 meter track and vomiting to running 11 laps (just over 3 miles) without stopping. I have increased the number of push-ups and sit-ups I have been able to do in one minute and feel good about the hard work I have put in.
I have decided not to weigh myself as I want this to be...

off to a good start
I’ve created a monster. There I said it.
I’ve wanted to get in shape for years now. I’ll start and things will be progressing nicely but then the double bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake come calling and I think back at how good that relationship has been and my new fitness regime/friend has to take a back seat.
This is not a new year’s...

Monkey's Uncle
Today Rachael and I will become Aunt Rachael and Uncle Sean. My sister-in-law Crystal and her husband Mike will be welcoming Caroline Boston York into the world in a matter of minutes.
If I have learned anything from my uncles I know that i get a very cool job. I can’t wait to get started! I’ll post pictures as soon as I can!
Goals
I’m not into new year’s resolutions so this post has nothing to do with that. I have just come out of a time in life where I have met some serious life goals and now I need some more so here they are…check up on me from time to time to see how I’m doing.

2. Learn Photoshop enough to create my own graphics

'tis the season.
Christmas time is a time that in the past few years I could have done without. I find myself longing for January when I can go out into public and not hear rockin around the christmas tree, jingle bells, or see ten-thousand representations of Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Happy Holidays signs.
I didn’t start out that way. Christmas was traditionally one of my favorite times of year, just...

sport freak.
I’ve been a sports freak for most of my life. Here are the teams that I follow in their respective sports:
NFL - Denver Broncos MLB - Boston Red Sox NBA - Utah Jazz MLS - Real Salt Lake College - Utah Utes
Of all these teams I would say that I have followed the Denver Broncos the most. Not only do I love football but I have really come to appreciate the pro game because they have a...

the problem.
So I noticed something in watching baseball this season. With no salary cap, the good teams just get better because they can afford all the big time players. I won’t blame a single team because my team is just as guilty of this as anyone else.
So here’s my question: In your opinion, would a salary cap in baseball really even the playing field, or should it remain the way it is?
