Lame blogger with a baby update

Blogging. Hmm. It is interesting to think that I think the events of my life are important enough that I should post them online so that others can read about my family. Weird. Okay, enough about that and the fact that I am quite possibly the world’s worst blogger.
Patrick Baby Update (Anna Grace Patrick):
We are having a baby girl! We had a routine ultrasound at 20 weeks and found out that I will now become the most protective father in the world. I have already started the application process of purchasing several cannon like firearms to keep boys away from my little girl. If you know me you know that I’m totally kidding ,but as a friend told me “She’ll have you long before hello.” I know what that is all about. Rachael is 25 weeks along and the baby is growing like crazy. There is no doubt to anyone who sees her that she is pregnant. We have really enjoyed this stage of pregnancy as Anna is responding to my voice and kicking. I am really excited to meet my daughter.
After registering for baby items at Baby’s R Us, I decided that I wanted to do something special for the crib. I have a friend who built his daughter a crib, bed, and chest of drawers that I really like, so the other day I went out and purchased cherry and maple with his help and we have started building the crib. It is going to look pretty sweet. I’d promise pictures of the crib but I’m not sure that they’ll make it here. I guess if you’ve stuck with us for this long you may still be checking back every now and then. Anna is due on 12/23/10. We are hoping for earlier or later than that date so her birthday isn’t so crazy close to Christmas but as long as she is healthy that will be just fine for us.
OTHER THINGS:
Life at the church is going great! We’ve recently hired a youth ministry intern and a children’s ministry intern. I hope that by the end of the internship that we will be able to bring them on full time. Holladay is growing in leaps and bounds. There are tons of new people every Sunday and it has been a huge blessing to be a part of what God is doing in the life of our congregation. We are truly blessed.
Thanks for sticking with us!
